Message 463518 - Posted: 22 Nov 2006, 13:51:35 UTC - in response to Message 463515.

Greetings all,

It seems, due to the up coming Earth holiday, my duties will end early today and I will not have to report back for the next 4 days following. I will, however, along with my Ashaya, be studying the OCC course for rank advancement. I need to move up from Ensign fast. There is a young Ensign, on board, who loves that he outranks me because of time in rank.

In lieu of the up coming holiday, I would like to extend warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all. Until my next visit.... (-:<

Siran, sir, good to see you, I hope you and your's are well, and enjoy your 4 days off. :-) Take care buddy.

. . .accordin' to ur *avatar* - YOU are well 'Equipped' and shall soon be One with the Force . . . ;_)

LOL Thank you sir. :-) Now if I could just get rid of all this spam email it would be nice. On my gmail, I got 221 messages in my spam folder, and 3 got through to my inbox. But my home account, using Mozilla Thunderbird, it marks quite a bit of them as spam, I just have to delete them, which is nice.

. . . Jeremy - i use eTrust (Computer Associates) for my Mail in Outlook Express - and iT allows me to look in the Folder (without *Opening*
the spam mails - and just *click* on those you want to keep . . .

look @ this eTrust

iT works well for mi . . .

Thanks buddy. I like what I got workin for now, it works good. I'm trying to distance myself that has anything to do with Microsoft. Soon I'm hoping to start to learn *nix.

Greetings Jeremy,

There is no way to get away from Microsoft 100%. We will always have to have a Windows PC. The new chat, a 3D VR chat, that I frequent, runs on a Windows PC only. Too bad too, I do most everything else from my *nix PC. Until my next visit.... (-:<

Greetings again Jeremy,

Please Jeremy, there is no need to call me sir. Only the crew members need to call me that. Dispite that all transporters are down, planetwide, and that there is a great distance between us, my Ashaya and myself are doing fine. Thank you for you sentiment, my friend. I too hope that you and your family have a good holiday. Until my next visit.... (-:<

Siran is correct with all the flavours of MS OS around.

For lockdown and as my e-mail client I use a minority programme supplied, on a one off license, by my ISP in 1994. It is called Turnpike, and I upgrade as these are available. Unfortunately support has been withdrawn, but it still meets all my demands, and is secure as all mail (and contents) coming in to it is encrypted.

I use K9 to mark and trap spam, etc, and my anti-virus, and more, is Eset's NOD32. My ISp also subscribes to Brightmail for the front end spam filtering.

I will take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving holiday!

It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Greetings Richard,

Thank you. The only family I have left is my brother who lives several miles from me here. I regret that he may be out of state, on the job. We usually get together for Earth holidays. I will, however, be able to chat with my Ashaya, in VR. It is not quite the same as being together in RL, yet it is in RT. Thank you again Richard. Until my next visit.... (-:<

Good (insert your time of day) to all. As the humans on Earth say "Happy Thanksgiving" to each of you. I will indeed be spending part of the day with my Ashaya, Siran.

Until my next visit, dif-tor heh smusma - Live long and prosper. \\V/_

This must be the "Thanksgiving '06" outage that we've been hearing about.
