my resource share of cpdn is 200 and of sh 100 so one hour of crunching for sh should be followed by two hours of crunching for cpdn. in fact the ratio is some kind in other direction. one hour of crunching for cpdn is followed by more then one hour of sh.

this is not what 'time-slicing' should do

Tell me about it. I have my resource share set to 50-50, running two processes on a hyperthreaded computer. I have had it like this for about two days now, and CPDN has only run for about 11 hrs... The way I understand the resource sharing, it should constantly run one process from one project on one virtual processor and one process of the other on the other virtual processor.

I actually posted about this at the CPDN forum, and it is kinda screwy. Ideally, I'd like CPDN crunching 20 hours a day, but just like you, microtoxic, SETI and CPDN alternate every hour.

Here's a link to that discussion: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=439

I'm not too fond of this option as it is right now. You should have the ability to turn "time slicing" off if you want. Or to limit it within BOINC itself to crunch a certain wu so many hours.
