I would like to setup BOINC as a service on my systems. I don't know how to compile the source code to do this. Has anyone out there done this and if so, is it possible to get a copy of their compiled code and run it on my systems?

Thanks
Garry

It is realitively simple to set up BOINC as a service.
Open a dos window. Navigate to your BOINC directory. Type 'boinc_cli -install'.

That is all there is too it. You may have to set permissions on the BOINC folder so that the service can access it. You also may want to use the windows service manager to change some of the service's settings.

Make certain that you stop the GUI first, and remove the GUI from the startup menu.

Thanks for the help. I will try it out after installing the new BOINC.

Any tips on setting up the signature things you all seem to be using would be nice too.

Thanks
Garry
