I don't know exactly what all the rest of you have been experiencing with "Forums"; however, it has been going up and down at the drop of a pin. It comes up, it goes down, it comes up, it goes down.

While I have read the prior posts; and I am aware that they are working on "the problem", this is still a bit frustrating. However; on the comical side of it, this thing is acting much like a Teeter Totter... LOL

Someone let me know, (e-Mail, Skype, IM - I don't care which), when this thing is back up and stabilized; please. <sigh>

OK, that said, @ Team,

I have reworked "TimeLord's Corner" into the Thread we all talked about for the Sci-Fi Short Stories Thread. I have posted a few rules of my own for that Thread that are in addition to the existing Rules of the "Forums". Please, when you get a chance, visit the new and improved "TimeLord's Corner..." and let me know if:

1.) The Rules need to modified.

2.) Suggestions for the Thread.

3.) Whatever comes to mind about the Thread.

Thank you everyone for your support. I hope the "Forums" do stabilize soon; so that we all can make the best use of them. Buga1 has put in way too much time into it for the Host to keep playing around with the Server our Site is on... Keep up the good work Buga1, and the rest of you too! There would be no "Forums" nor "Calm Chaos" without you guys.

Sincerely,

TimeLord04

Forums - Addendum:

It is sssslllloooooowwwwwwllllyyyy coming back up. It really is struggling to make it; though. So, we'll see...

@ Buga1

For the brief moment that I was on just now, I did see that you modified "TimeLord's Corner". Thank you. (Also noticed my new Mod status for the Thread, thank you for that too.)

TL I took a peek on the thread, looks good and I also left you a post there simply that I heard George Noory say last night that he was on the development team for a Sci-Fi TV show pilot with the central theme of time travel. Don't know any specifics other than a search with out a name proved pointless.

Something to look forward to 'ay m8.

With the improved graphics and special effects of today should be interesting being they develop an intresting plot.

Yes, I saw that before it crashed; again... LOL It goes up and down more than a Yo-Yo; right now... <sigh>

When it comes back up, notice the change in my Sig... I got it modified up a little bit... ;-)

Thanks, D.W.W. Also, I talked with Myron today both about the Business in General, and a little more on your new system. He is looking into a High Quality ASUS Board for the Xeon 5160 Processor. (Did you know that the 5100 Series Processors are being used in the New Quad Processor MACs??? Myron and I were drooling over ALL that the New Quad Proc. MAC can do!!!) We are also looking into AT LEAST a True Power 450 Watt (Minimum) Power Supply...

Before we lock into that Power Supply, we both need a detailed list of the other components that you have on hand for this system... Sound Card, Video Card, etc. Please provide Makes and Models of each item. (ie: Creative Labs Soundblaster Live - Model **** Or, ATI Radeon ****)

That list will help us plan out exactly what kind of Power Draw, (at Maximum), that will be required for the whole system. Then we can plan for a True Power Power Supply that will meet and exceed the needs of the system and give a little room to grow on for upgrades.

Thanks,

The 5160 is 80 watts! Most drain of all of them so give me your recomendation.

Info forthwith, like the wind, well, winds on a still day. lol
I'll look the stuff up TL.
I'll need to know if Asus board is AGP or PCI-X or other?. In addition, on-board sound is just fine and will probably be more than I need anyway; If not I have an SB Live! (9400) you or I can plug in to it. The two H/D's 80GB SATA's for the raid setup and will send them to you. Already have new in box with extra plug's. Will I need third IDE H/D? Still not decided on OS yet will let you know. Like I told Myron plan on delivery date in February if poss. and may want to delay quote till later to take advantage of lower prices if you think practical. This is to be my birthday present to myself as certified (allowed) by Sue. yum!

The old board and memory I'm sending you will probably not arrive until Tuesday now. I went a little overboard on the new PSU and broke my budget for the month causing a slight delay.

Hi Guy's, its been a few days....
Been real busy with work and home life, didn't mean to ignore the thread.
I signed up for Chess960 about 5 days ago but still no work. Keep getting apple-darwin-not found.
Anyway, whats up with the new forum. Looks down lately. Bet if I scoll down the answer is there huh! :-)
Mrs. Miggins: The Scarlet Pimpernel, Mr. Blackadder! He's so exciting, don't you think?
Blackadder: Actually, I think he's the most over-rated human being since Judas Iscariot won the AD31 Best Disciple Competition.

Hi brian,

Chess960@home doesn't have any plans to support any Mac OS at this time. Might as well drop that one.

you are GMT -4, I am GMT -7.

I didn't quite get it ether. ;)

But at 2:00 am (local time) Sunday, Oct. 29th, KM will be GMT-5 and you will still be GMT-7 (and it will magically become 1:00 am for KM).

And KM, if you work Sunday night, you should get an extra hour's pay. ;)
I used to write Time & Attendance systems for hospitals and manufacturing plant (in the dark ages of computing) and the Monday's following DST change days were the WORST!!!

Just trying to add to the general DST confusion.

No to PeopleSoft, it was a very small company in Tulsa, but we had big customers. WalMart, American Airlines, McDonnell Douglas, Rockefeller Center, Los Angeles Medical Center, and O'Sullivan Industries to drop a few names. I don't remember exactly when PeopleSoft started, but I'm pretty sure it was long before. Mid to late 80s.

And I was mainly just hammering away at KM's skull, to defuse the aspirin.

But for Thursday, you are right.

@ Brian,

Information on Chess960 and Apple is to be found here:

Chess960\\NC\\Apple?

Bottom line is that Rytis, (at present), doesn't want to consider Apple for Chess960; and JonasD, (head of the Project), is open to MAC being supported; but, has no MAC Developer, nor time nor resources to get one.

Thus; a "CHALLENGE" has arisen between ALL MAC Users and Chess960. "If 20 MAC Users can be shown as registered with the Project..." JonasD WILL CONSIDER increasing the priority level of getting the Project to work with MAC.

So, DON'T detach from the Project. Instead, check out the Thread Link above. Read all of the posts there, and you will fully understand the Challenge that I set up.

The Challenge is also Posted in our "Forums"; however, make sure to post at the link above to let JonasD know that you are a MAC Registered User to the Project.
(Officially; from the count in that Thread, you make #3...) Once you post therein, we need 17 more Registered MAC Users AND a MAC Developer. This will show that MAC Users are serious about the Chess960 Project.

8-D
