Have had this error thrown several times recently that wants to go to Microsoft. Anyone know what it is? I'm not holding my breath for MS to fix it.

You are using the screen saver? Have you tried running it without the screen saver? The errors seems to point to the video driver.

Have you tried updating your video driver? Is your DirectX up to date?

Some of the video cards hate the screen saver. So, if you are running that, try it with a blank or no screen saver.

Please tell, where did you get this error from? From within BOINC?

Can you post your messages from your Messages tab?

This error is the one sent back to M$ when you get one of those "This program has performed an illegal opertation". It then request a send back, and you can save/print/see the information sent to M$, and that's what it looks like.

I just updated the driver and latest Catalyst for my ATI Raedon 9550. Did it "by the book" from their website. I'm running the screen saver again to see if it improves. I'll post a follow up once the screen saver kicks in... Thanks -

Please update your DirectX. I gave you the link in this thread. The msvcrt.dll version you are running is an older one. By installing the latest DirectX version you are assured of truly having the latest updates on all runtime libraries.

Yes, even if you have Dx 9.0c installed already, the link I pointed to gives the true latest version as even DirectX is updated every 2 months or so.

Updated the DirectX per your link. Without the SETI screensaver, I've run nearly 12 hours without a problem. Will a future version address the graphics card snafus? Thanks for all your help...
