Whoa, in the middle of editting here... and it posts... don't hit <cr>

The links on http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/download_network.php
don't work because the //setiathome. should be //boinc. I suspect boinc is feeding the page relative references and should feed absolute references, but they seem to think the problem is on your end.

I started a Boinc forum conversation because the page says it is maintained by boinc.
pasted at end in reverse order relative to their forum - earliest post first.

Of course, as usual the boinc people respond to the users who discovered a problem and wanted to bring it to their attention by pointing out the obvious instead of understanding and acknowledging that there is a problem and providing something constructive toward correcting it. As many returning seti contributors have tried to have the patience to explain, if the sites and the programs work the way moderately savvy people expect them to work, more people will be able to contribute without risking destruction of their hardware or extreme frustration. I know many people who would not think of changing out the //setiathome. to //boinc. and would just assume that the page is old and unmaintained.

anyway. thanks for your work and hopefully someone in the know will be able to get the addon links working for the general public. BTW, the threadmaster .reg file needs the name modified to the extended executable name to work properly.

Apparently the list on that page is maintained by boinc, and if one changes the //setiathome to //boinc, the links work, but they should work by clicking instead of returning not found errors.

On the BOINC site, it can be gotten from the link Add-Ons.
This one points to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/addons.php

On the Seti site (and do know, these aren't the Seti forums), it can be gotten from Participate. There the add-on link is set from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/download_network.php (Which works).

When you're on the Einstein main page, you can click on the BOINC Add-Ons link and get http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/download_network.php

:)

I guess this line on their page "#
# This list is managed centrally at the BOINC website. " is incorrect? any idea how to let them know about the broken links?

any idea how to let them know about the broken links?

Hi again. :-)

It also says there: To submit an add-on for inclusion in this list, please email David Anderson.

That's also for broken links. :)
