Is it possible to stop that moving graphic? This new graphic is nice looking, but you cant watch it easily as it keeps moving

The moving keeps the graphics from burning in.

But yes, there is a tweak to stop the graphics from moving and make them look more like the Seti Classic screen saver. Look at 6B.

Yes it is.
The explanation is given here.

Go to your Seti@Home preferences and set the

Horizontal oscillation period
Horizontal oscillation range
Vertical oscillation period
and
Vertical oscillation range
to a low number.

Afterwards open the Boinc Manager, go to the tab "Projects", select Seti@Home and use the "Update" function.

Go to Your Account, click on View or Edit General Preferences, change the setting that reads: "On multiprocessors, use at most" to 2 or more. For each CPU you have, you can run one instance of a science application. Since you have a dual core CPU (Pentium D), it's like have two CPUs in one system, so you can go ahead and set it to 2 CPUs. Make sure you save your preferences.

Open BOINC Manager on your computer, select the Projects tab, select SETI@Home, then click on the Update button to the left. It should download your new preferences and start running two apps.

Note: there has been some server issues, so your preferences might not be downloaded immediately. This may take a while for the SETI team to fix, so please bear with them.

I think that ozzfan answered the wrong question. However, the instructions are partly the same. If there are actually 2 (or more) processes actually running, you have a multi CPU or hyper threaded CPU or both. In this case, your computer is capable of doing more tasks at once, and limiting the number of tasks will not speed up an individual task.

If you want to download very little work at once, this can be accomplished as well, however with 5.4 and earlier there is a bug for dialup users (this is fixed in 5.6 and later, but these are not released). To download fewer tasks, go to your account -> general preferences -> connect every X days, and set X to be something like 0.01. This will make BOINC wait until there is about 2 1/2 minutes of work left before downloading more.

Well, there is another complait about new SETI@home graphic. The changing to OpenGL style is well undersood, but where have the time and frequency range markers gone? For lack of them unit indication is pretty useless (sec and Hz notation). Is it possible to make a patch adding back range markers?

And another remark. Somehow the Best puls is not shown also it is present. Is it a bug?

Umm... that information is still there. In the upper right section called Data Info, there is a line that reads "Recorded on:" which tells the exact moment to the second which the data was recorded.

Then, the last line shows what frequency the data was recorded at in Hz notation (actually, GHz).

I'm sorry for my bad english.

I actually meant another thing. In classic version the duration of the signal fragment (that has being splitted by a splitter) was shown (107.4 seconds) on the plot, as long as its bandwidth (9765.620 Hz). There are no such notations in the boinc version.
