If you want to hear what a work unit sounds like, dial to in between stations on any AM radio. That's what a work unit sounds like: white noise and static.

The contents of a WU aren't audio signals.

No. Who'd want to listen to a bunch of crappy space noise? It wouldn't sound like much to our human ears - a lot like what Ageless said above.

Space sounds... Some people apparently do. ;)

I would like to listen to my WU's too! Is there any program similar to WU2WAV, but compatible with BOINC WU's?

Yeah, unfortunately CAT scans aren't required by law.

There is no program out there that will allow you to listen to your workunits that I am aware of.

Hey, this is a valid request based on the movie Contact where the deaf radioastronomer could hear structure. Besides, white noise is very relaxing. I personally prefer watching my hard drive defrag.

Could we inverse fft any signal above the noise to produce a melody of tones? We could scale the frequencies to between 500 - 5,000 Hz. Make the song last 64 seconds. This seems do-able, but not by me.

Besides, this could be a cool thing to show off to your friends for a minute's entertainment.

Focus on creating an intense desire to make yourself a better person.
