Not again!!!! How can we forget? We get enough of this over here, no one will let it rest. They keep dredging up BAD events from the past. I watched it unfold on live TV and I would rather NOT have it crammed down my throat and be allow to remember in my own way. Yes, it's a tragic event, I grant you that. Had I been a friend or relative of one of the lost, I would NOT want this to continually be dredged up every single year. I feel for the friends and relatives of the victims, they have to go through this all over again. I would rather let the past stay in the past and get on with my life. What's done is done, what's in the past shall forever stay in the past. We have the present to enjoy and the future to ponder....

Siran, there are quite a few people who lost friends and family in the attack who would rather see those images than have them become a case of " Out of sight, out of mind " which is something that happens all too often in this country.

Seeing as how they are the ones suffering for it... ;)

The logical thing to do, then, would have been to not enter this particular thread and instead go to the threads you would find more enjoyable or productive.

Jeffrey..does your comment really have a place in this thread seeing as we all know that the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11?

I apologize for the rant, but they are my opinions and last time I looked everyone was still entitled to 1 or 2. It doesn't matter that today is 9/11, there's hardly a day go by where the news is NOT reporting [more like rehashing] something from the event. It's like the proverbial broken record over here....

I believe I mentioned the friends and families of the victims. I honestly would not want to be one of them. My mother died in a fire a few years ago. Do I dwell on it and feel all crummy every day of my life? No! When I think of my mother, I think about the good times, the times that made me smile and laugh and feel good about her. Why should I dwell on her death when there are so many more things to think about that make me feel good?

To be really, really honest, it was the author, who started this thread, that set me off. I would not have said anything had it not been for that author....

I think it would have been better to have a moment of quiet reflection and thought for all the suffering that happened on that day and all the subsequent killing done in the name of those that died.

I have the utmost respect for the grief endured by those that lost friends and family 5 years ago..but I would also ask that people take a moment to think of all those that have suffered and died as a direct consequence of actions taken since that day.

I mourn because so many innocent people died on that day. I mourn because so many innocent people are still dying.

I mourn because it's not over.

What you are missing is that we in the US were told it DID have to with 9/11 and a large percentage bought the "link." Hence, there was initially large support for the war here. Enough said.

Sorry, but i cant belive what is going on here. More than 3.000 innocent people were killed Thats a small town!!!!
People around the world lost collegs, kith an kin at this date in the WTC.
I ve lost two collegs there. And we made a private donation to their families.

Please, if someone likes to post here, be sensetive and select your words with caution.

Thanks in advance.

Odd that. They spend their time slaughtering each other. If "they" are the ones suffering for it, maybe "they" should stop. The Germans and the Japanese managed to figure this one out...
