And this comes as a surprise Captain? We all know the French have no guts when it comes to getting things to where they should be. As long as nobody messes with their grapes or tlls their women to shave their armpits, they don't care.

You forget that the US controls Iraq's airspace, Israel could just pay the US, on paper of course, for the fuel needed, and refuel over Iraq.

Cold Hearted I know but, lets just pull out of Iraq and move the troops home.

taste if they dont stop the crap.

Low yield? Nahhhh....let's just turn the whole area into a sheet of glass. That's just about the only thing that is going to solve the conflicts in the Middle East.

Sure would give us a great incentive to come up with alternative fuel sources though.

Only bad thing about that idea. The whole country would wind up smelling like Cleveland, Ohio.

Directions to Cleveland from Michigan....South till you smell it....East till you step in it.

I live in Michigan. It really isn't a whole lot better where I work.

I have a question that is going to sound like a TERRIBLE question to ask, so please keep in mind that I am not asking out of any support of terrorism or Anti Semetism.

Let's say that Israel does get destroyed...why is that such a big deal? It would seem that, if that were to happen, it would be one less thing for the Middle East to fight about.

2nd part of the question. What happens if Lebanon gets destroyed? Again, one less thing to fight about.

As I said...I do not support terrorism and I am not Anti Semetic. I am just curious as to what the implications would be in either event.

What would be the big deal if a wife beater finally killed his bride ? I mean that would be one less thing for the cops to dealt with. No more calls out to the house in the middle of the night to arrest the drunk abuser. Would save the taxpayers some money and sure would quiet down the neighborhood. The screams coming from the house and the late night police lights wouldn't bother anybody's sleep on that street anymore.

*SIGH

Secondly, Israel is the only beacon of freedom in the whole damn region. If Israel goes the way of the dodo bird then Islamic fundamentalist totalitarianism has a free hand and would be emboldened beyond belief to become even stronger aggressors.

Ok. What about the second part? What if Israel, in the process of getting rid of Hizbollah and Hamas, destroys Lebanon? Would that make ( to use your analogy ) the bride justified in killing the husband?

Israel being the only bastion of freedom in the Middle East I can understand. But, I hate to say it, until one or the other ( Lebanon, Iran, Syria ) or Israel is gone, there will be no peace.

All a cease fire is going to do is give them all time to reload an regroup.
