I have had a classic account for years, but I can't seem to get the old program to work anymore. I have downloaded the new BOINC. How can get the credit from my old account added to the new one? How can I find out my old account name and password?

The Classic Seti closed down last December and all the servers were reassigned or trashed. All the accounts were transferred to Boinc and linked to the email used at Classic. You can have Boinc-Seti send you the account key for that account if the email is still valid or failing that you will need your password from classic to either activate the account or link your Classic account to this Boinc account. This form can be used to recover the account.

Note: Boinc uses your email as a unique identifier so only one account can be created with a particular email address.

If don't have the needed information you may be able to retrieve your password from the user_info.sah file in your Classic Seti folder (if you haven't delete it yet) by copying the file content into this password retrieval form.

BTW you will need the remove Classic Seti from your computer, if you haven't done so yet, or it will likely interfere with Boinc's operation.

Good luck in retrieving the momento of your Classic contribution and welcome to Boinc-Seti and all its associate projects.

BOINC miniFAQ is a useful guide to the understanding of Boinc.
