Could it be that there is only ONE God, and we are just all interpreting his word to fit our own beliefs?

Read my post history... That is EXACTLY what I've been saying... ;)

But then we could get into the pi**ing contest about "If there was a God, why would he allow (insert your verbage) to happen." I, for one, allow that there has been more things in my life that have occured to be just happenstance. I have been very blessed by some events that have occured in my life, and cursed by others. On one hand, my 3yo niece drowned this summer, and I have a hard time coming to grips with a God that could allow that to happen. And one of my younger brothers committed suicide at the age of 19, I was just a year older than him. Try to justiry it all, and it's no wonder why I drink.
But somehow, I still believe that a higher power controls it all. This belief has come to me late in life.
So, snyway......on to the Seti thing.
I guess that searching for ET is not anti-Christian, or any other religion for that matter. Searching for brethren in this universe is not unGodly in any case, because he would have put them there, now, wouldn't He?

Oh and I saw a post saying athiests can live happily in muslim countries. Please pray tell me where that is.

Maybe I should have been more clear...

Non Muslims used to live happily in the Middle East until WE destroyed it...

You mock Muslims sacred Religion...

You spread verbal hate about Muslims...

You spread lies and propaganda about Muslims...

You distort the Religion of Islam out of your ignorance...

So much that the so-called 'christians' can't even see that we share the same God...

Can you blame them for not wanting us there anymore? I don't... I blame US... ;)

Oh, what are you gonna do? Kill me for calling Islam a religion of violence? Like the fatwah from muslim religious leaders calling for the death of the pope?

Also, I'M NOT A CHRISTIAN. Stop ASSuming.

What was a lie? Not ONE bit of it was a lie.

"In France, there are "no-go zones" where police won't enter and muslims follow their own sha'ria laws. The muslims in france have their own judges, their own police (who just stone instead of arrest), and their own muslim army (rioting mobs)."

Was that a lie? NOPE. Look it up.

"In Britain, they announced they will consult with muslim clerics before arresting terrorists, because muslims riot whenever they arrest a terrorist."

Was that a lie? NOPE. Look it up.

"Today in France, when police responded to a robbery, 50 muslims threw stones and injured an officer. The police retreated."

Was that a lie? NOPE. Look it up.

In Islam,

Please tell me, what is the muslim penalty for apostasy?

(this is rhetorical, as all muslims know it's death, I just want to see if he'd prefer to lie to us, or if he'll just ignore the question)

"In islam, all muslim countries are in the Dar Al-Islam "House of Submission" but all non-muslim countries are in the Dar Al-Harb, or "House of War". All muslim countries MUST be at war with non-muslim countries, and truces longer than 10 years are illegal." That's true too. Need proof?

Wikipedia says "In the conservative tradition of Islam the world is divided into two components: dar al-Islam, the house of submission and dar al-Harb, the house of war."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dar_al-Islam

"In Islamic theology and legal interpretations, the ultimate aim of Islam is to bring the whole world under the dominion of Islam." - Wikipedia.
The truth is out there. Or in here. Who left the door open? (my dog comes running back in) There's the truth!

In Islamic theology and legal interpretations

From the link you posted:

Dar al-Islam and its associated terms are not found in the two most basic works of Islam, the Qur'an and the Hadith.

Dar al-Harb and its associated terms are not found in the two most basic works of Islam, the Qur'an and the Hadith.

Once again... Out of your ignorance, you are blaming God, Islam, and Muslims for the terrible things that man does of his own free will... Can you people even read???

And BTW, nice compilation of crimes... Have you watched the news lately? I'm guessing none of those crimes were committed by Muslims, Christians, or Jews... And if they were, then they were not practicing their Religion properly... ;)

Any takers???

I wasn't sure if I should respond to this because I don't think that 'my' answer will help you... But here goes...

You ask how a loving God could allow terrible things to happen? Consider this:

God created us, He gave us the complete manual(s) for life, in those manuals He told us what He expected of us, He forewarned us about how hard this life would be, He told us that we would be put through many trials and tribulations, He told us ahead of time what the reward or punishment would be for our actions, then He gave us the choice to decide for ourselves which way we wanted to go... I can't think of anything more fair than that...

Nobody can possibly know the mind of God, but He did leave us a lot of information, and from that information, I can tell you two things that 'might' comfort you:

1. That everyone has a scheduled departure date which can not be prolonged nor expedited by anyone or anything in this world...

2. God does not micromanage the universe as some would think, because that would then take away from our free will... But in the end, everyone will be punished for their evil deeds and rewarded for their good deeds and recompensed for their sufferings...

If there is a God, the things of this world become very insignificant in the overall scheme of things, and there is much much much more to look forward to in the hereafter... On the other hand, if there is no God, then everything that happens in life is left up to chance and there is nothing more to look forward to... So aside from being abused by those who don't believe, what do you have to lose by believing that there is a God and finding comfort in His Word and in His promises?

I'll step off my soap box now before someone accuses me of 'preaching'... ;)

But wouldn't setting a departure date for everyone imply a form a micromanagement?

"Free Will" is such a lousy excuse for just letting everything happen as it will.
Tests my beliefs every time. Can't justify it. So easy to just say WTF.
But there 'faith' is, just the same.

Not really... God already knows the choices that we'll make... We're just here to prove Him right, so to speak...

I'm guessing you think 9/11 wasn't caused by radical muslims determined to kill non-muslims, but the christian "crusaders".

They were ALL commited by muslims adhering to the basic principle of SUBMISSION. ISLAM MEANS SUBMISSION. Don't you understand? Islam's goal is to dominate the world. Either you're fooling yourself, or trying to fool us.

YOU AVOIDED THE QUESTION: what is the proper practice of Islam?

You know full well it is stoning.

"Tell to the Infidels: if they desist from their unbelief, what is now past shall be forgiven; but if they return to it, they have already before them the doom of the ancients! Fight then against them till strife be at an end, and until all religion be Allah's."
-- Holy Qu'ran, Sura viii, 39-42

I got hundreds more, you need more qu'ran verses?

You know full well Dar Al-Harb is MODERN ISLAM. You can say you follow a DIFFERENT Islam, but the ottoman empire, the caliphates, and 90% of muslims today follow the islam that preaches Dar Al-Harb, which is BASED UPON Mohammad's "JIHAD" commands.

Jesus never commanded a holy war. Mohammad commands holy war. There's your difference. Why are you lying to the Kufir? to us infidels? Do you really think you'll gain bonus virgins? Why not just TELL us you hate Jews and hate the west.

Tell me, do you love Jews? Are Jews a great and noble people worthy of respect like any other, that they deserve a home country, the land they used to live in? Say that, then we'll talk. My guess is you're anti-semitic like 99% of muslims.

14/21 of the ongoing conflicts have a muslim aggressor! 66% of all wars have a muslim aggressor

I took out iraq because some people actually believe it's defensive. (Terrorists are terrorists, they aren't bombing us because we liberated them, as if that makes ANY sense, but because they hate non-muslims)

As soon as we liberated the Shiites of Iraq, the first thing they did was REINSTITUTE saddam's old laws, THEN add Sha'ria law, banning women from showing their faces. With quite literally fashion police that will beat them with clubs if they don't. Your religion of love. Ahhh so loving.

Is that 66% of all wars have a muslim ATTACKER, just a coincidence? Couldn't have ANYTHING to do with Mohammad's hateful message? Like Mohammad's JIHAD COMMAND. Stop lying to us infidels. We're not stupid enough to believe your lies. I don't see christians strapping bombs on and blowing themselves up in supermarkets, so they can get 42 virgins.

The crime for entering Mecca is death. The crime for apostasy is death. You know both of those. The only way abrahamic faiths can live in muslim countries is if they pay tribute, convert, or die. Pagans, on the other hand, must either convert or die.

The ONLY Islamic theocracy, Iran, says it will wipe Israel off the face of the planet, to bring about the return of the islamic messiah.

There are very few, IF ANY, buddhist terrorists, christian terrorists, hindu terrorists, jewish terrorists, etc. Not in any significant number.

Whereas why is it then, that the WTC has been attacked twice by muslims, the embassies blown up, the USS cole attacked.

What will it take for you to admit that Islam is a religion of violence? Do muslims have to use nukes? Do they have to wipe out all of humanity before you admit it?

Oh wait, then they'll have already won. ^_^ So you win, your lies work, and you trick the world into submission.

Islam MEANS submission.

99% of the time only muslims strap on bombs, and BLOW UP THEIR OWN PEOPLE, just to make a political point.

I got this off a pro-muslim website:
"Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. Allah does not guide the wrong-doers." Qu'ran 5:51

Islam MEANS submission. Islam MEANS submission. Islam MEANS submission. How many times do I have to say it?!

If a muslim is "one who submits", then the goal of Islam is to force the world into submission

"Islam" being the arabic word for submission.

Whereas Jesus' main message was love,
Buddha's main message detachment from self,
Mohammad's main message is submission and domination. Islam means submission, what more do you need? Did Mohammad have to spell it out for you?

Does Mohammad have to say "Islam is a religion designed to conquer the world" for you to believe it? He pretty much spells it out. Do you need an old book, the Qu'Ran which apparently you believe to be infallible, to tell you that?

The whole reason you keep repeating that everyone worships the same god is because that is a tenet of islam.

the PRIMARY TENET OF ISLAM: "ONLY ONE religion was acceptable to Allah - Submission."

That is the "message" Mohammad brought. That all religions are the same god, and that you MUST SUBMIT TO HIM. As if Mohammad knows which God, and thus EVERYONE must submit to his god.

The difference is a God of Love does not demand submission. a God of Evil and Domination demands submission. Only evil demands submission.

If Allah demands submission, what does Satan demand? Love?

Oh lookie, another new poster with a low rac who has the same vulgar posting habits as, well, you know who... Funny how they always seem to show up when I tick off a regular...
It's more likely that a group of wronged people who don't believe they will be held accountable by a supreme being to seek revenge for their injustices by means of lying, deceiving, stealing, slandering, and murdering, than it would be for a group of God fearing people to travel across the globe to a foreign land and destroy it simply because, and I quote, "They don't like our freedoms and our way of life", end quote... Then yes, that is exactly what I'm saying...

Don't worry though... I would never go so far as to blame ALL 'athiests' and start a 'crusade' against them for the 'crimes' of a small few... Anyway, this is all just 'hypothetical' of course... ;)

Anyone care to comment on this? It's probobly a little closer to the TRUTH than you think... ;)

Oh My God. This Muslim DENIES THAT SEPTEMBER 11th WAS CAUSED BY MUSLIMS.

He thinks no muslim would ever hurt the USA. Oh no, "god-fearing" muslims would never attack the "Great Satan" USA. (Why do they call us the Great Satan then, my ignorant friend?)

You sicken me. Your true evil is shown. You would rather blame the US, than realize that it was OSAMA BIN LADEN and Muslim fundamentalist who BELIEVE THE Qu'ran VERBATIM, who attacked the US.

Osama was a peaceful child, who didn't even punch back in fights, it wasn't until a cleric SHOWED HIM passages in the Qu'ran demanding jihad against the infidels, that he became who he is now.

Maybe a passage like this one: "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them." Qu'Ran 9:121

Or this one: "Make war on [infidels] until idolatry shall cease and Allah's religion shall reign supreme." Qu'Ran 8:36

Need more? Here's another for sportsmanship: "Allah revealed His will to the angels, saying: 'I shall be with you. Give courage to the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers!'" Qu'ran 8.12-13

Right there the Qu'Ran commands the very beheadings that still go on today.

(Oh and if there was a conspiracy theory, everyone who says it is would be dead, and we would of never heard about it, the news stations would have NEVER aired it, bloggers and websites would never be able to run it, and also die)

The truth is out there. Or in here. Who left the door open? (my dog comes running back in) There's the truth!
