In particular, some of the longer threads are running into the 30 second error while displaying a large number of the first posts (the particular test is "last person to post here wins".

The numbers appear to be correct on my account settings.

Changing the number of posts that are allowed to show seems to have at least temporarily fixed the problem.

The avatar is by default set to "Don't use an avatar", so if you change your preferences, make sure it also points to "use this avatar" (no need to constantly leave the link), before updating any prefs.

Matt got a bucket full of bugs sent from me already. ;-)
