My BOINC 4 client gives me this:
2004-08-28 19:01:23 [SETI@home] Message from server: To participate in this project, you must use major version 3 of the BOINC core client. Your core client is major version 4.

So, what's up. Are we going with 4, or sticking with 3?

I'm wondering if Rom even found some help to work today?

Okay folks, I haven't been able to get ahold of the right people to do this upgrade right now.

So I'm going to delay it till at least tomorrow, when I can get ahold of some people.

I'll go ahead and post a news item on it. Sorry about the problems and all, it completely shot my day as well.

The short anwser is, the server-side software is 4.x, we just re-labeled it as 3.22 so the 3.x clients would be able submit results and receive workunits.

Up until a week ago the 4.x codebase wasn't suitable, since many bugs still had to be fixed.

4.x was primary geared toward the feature set required by CPDN, so they told us they were good to go. We now need to go ahead and migrate to the 4.x branch so that people can participate in both S@H and CPDN.

I'm working with Predictor on an upgrade schedule.
