two days ago i had no choice but to remove and then reattach seti@home to the BOINc system because i kept on getting an upload failure for a workunit that had been completed.

Now BOINC keeps kicking seti out (detaching from project) because it says i have a missing or invalid account ID and that it cannot logon.

I know my account ID is valid because up until the failed upload everything was working fine.

My BOINC version is 3.20 & Seti@home is version 3.08

If anyone has any advice they can give me i would be very grateful.

Can't help, I'm afraid, but I'm getting exactly the same happen, having just installed BOINC version 4. I know the account number is correct because it was working fine with version 3.20 and S@H 3.08 and I copied and pasted it into terminal from my original BOINC confirmation e-mail.

I posted about it in the Mac section here and was looking around to see if anyone on other platforms had the same problem when I found your message. It might be worth you checking that out later to see if anyone has answered my question!

It could've been that the upload server was taken offline during your attempt to upload... what does your BOINC client say when it cannot upload?
