Does anyone have version 4.x loaded and running? If so did you roll your own from the source code v4.06 in the boinc directory in the CVS repository?

As of the moment I can find no other links to version 4-dot-anything.

I guess this is a round-about way of asking where I should look for the new version of the client.

Hi!
Try this link
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/download.php

This is the version required for ClimatePrediction project. Don't forget it will not be usable with SETI or Predictor until this two projects have moved their servers to 4.XX version.

See ya!

Unless you are running CPDN, I would hold off on v4.x of BOINC. When Berkeley or Scripps upgrades their stuff to v4.x, they will either provide the v4.x client on their download page, or will officially direct you where to go and get it.

Yes. I thought we were switching over at 11:00 PDT. When I couldn't get my work units from the night before to download I dumped them and installed 4.05.

Now 4.05 says "my password may be wrong" and I need major version 3.

I downloaded v4.05 from CPDN because I'm running that client. It simply put my Seti on hold until such time they move to v4.05. If they don't then I'll have to do a rethink.

Yes, I jumped the gun and loaded it on one machine here.

It is too soon.

Switch to 4.0 when it appears on the SETI home page (unless you want to run CPDN)

Me too - see http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=3130

My finished WUs (about 8-10) uploaded after the upgrade, but nothing's coming down (Linux client).

That's because you have "get 0 to 0 days of work" in your profile. It doesn't stop new work if it's available. change "leave at least xx GB free" to a high number in your profile. You;ll still get "no work( you didn't have enough disk space)", but it should allow you to flush your cache!

(it's also simple to change when you've switched to the new client)
