I just added climate to my BOINC project only to find that I have to upgrade to version 4 of BOINC for it to run. I did this and wound up losing all cached work for SET and predictor. Now predictor will not run as it want to use version 3 of BOINC.

Will I have the same problem with SETI (once it is back operating)?

Seti should be running 4.05 today, Predictor will be changed next month or sooner....

I downloaded Climate yesterday after upgrading Boinc to v4.05. I didn't lose my Seti WU's - they just wouldn't progress as they were looking for a v3. Once Seti/Boinc is on v4.05 then all will be well....I assume.

Thank you for the feedback. It was a bit unnerving to loose all my cached data and find that predictor no longer functioned after the upgrade.

Does anyone know of someplace where I can find out what problems have been fixed in this new version of BOINC?

BOINC 4.x (currently 4.05) was, I believe, written for ClimatePrediction http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/. Aside from a DISK tab showing BOINC's drive space usage, little on the surface has appeared to have changed.

Due to the size of Climate's WU's and exe's 4.x allows for transfer of compressed (zipped) files.

Currently, only Climate functions with BOINC 4.x SETI and Predictor are still operating only on version 3.2

Then you didn't upgrade.

Upgrading to 4.05 will reset all projects. You will loose your WUs. If you did not, then you did it wrong...

Thanks for the info. That's a bit diappointing. I was hopeing this version might fix some of the probelms, like the separate profiles for work and home not working properly. Oh well, maybe next round!
