BOINC 3.19 M1 as service stops when logging off

When installed as a service, if you log off the boinc_cli client takes this as an indication to stop thus rendering background processing useless:

This example was from a Windows 2003 server.

BTW It appears that the client uses the "network service" account under both 2003 _and_ WinXP. If you used "local system" as most services tend to use, then the issue about rights needed for the BOINC folder would be unnecessary.

Yes, which is why I mention it at the end of my posting - the same happens using either account.

If they used the "local system" account then there's no need to mess about with foler/file permissions as the account already has full access to local resources. Perhaps there's another reason, but it's not stated anywhere.

When you installed the program, did you leave the checks on "Run BOINC at startup" and "Run as the default screensaver" ? Or did you take those checks off?

I know you are using it as a service, but maybe that you left the screensaver option on and that Windows 2k3 doesn't like that when you log off.

Well, skip that thought, I just tested something. I have unchecked those options when installing the program, am running the CLI in Windows 2000 SP4 and just tried to log off. What do you think happened? Yep, the same User shutdown request. You found a bug.
