Screen Saver resizing DOS windows

Running Windows 98SE, any time the screen saver kicks in, it seems to be assuming or configuring the display in a low-resolution mode (640x480?), and when the screen saver is exited, any DOS windows _not_ in the upper left portion are moved and/or resized.

Anyone know if this is a known bug, or how to prevent this from happening?
