This is more or less my first post to this board. I really want to communicate on a higher level than what I'm writing about now but until I feel that I'm really participating in SETI (or in any of the other types of research being done)I won't have anything to say. I'd rather say nothing, in general, than bitch and moan but I so want to be a part of Seti@home that I'm hanging in and hoping I can find some help on these boards.

I see that quite a few of the people who feel the same way about wanting to be involved are having the same problem. This is about not being able to connect up with my local host in order to allow my computer to work FOR this project. Until last night I was connected and my computer is giving the project unending amounts of time. However, since last night I have not been able to connect. I've gone back and forth all day long trying to get my computer back in with the project but to no avail and if I'm not connected then I'm not really being a part of anything at BOINC. I'm not a great computer expert and some of the advice that others have been getting involve descriptions much to technical for me to follow.

I'd appreciate any advice about how to get connected back up (as long as the advice is written in English - :).

Thanks,
Shari
