I've noticed a lot of folk having a problem with getting more data to process, is this a BOINC problem or are there no WU's available at this time?

WU's have been available Saturday and Sunday, some people were able to get a few WU's yesterday.
As for today, WU's seems to be very rare.

Probably in the future, due to the installation of new hardware at Arecibo as well as maybe the use of other radio telescopes, WU's will be very probably available without any problems anymore.

Nevertheless, with S@H/Boinc, WU's are normally only processed once by 3 different PC's where with S@H Classic the same WU is send manu times over and over again.

Greetings from Belgium.

ok I understand that they dont keep sending the units out.. but till they fix this garbage of always not having work, or something broke or this or that... mean while noone has anything to do...makes no sense! keep the people doing something or they will leave your project. at this moment,you should keep sending out the units like the classic till a point in time when you have enough to only send it out 3 times.
and second, the units take less time to complete then the classic did
boinc takes like 5 hours where the classic took from 30 - 50 hours

Well, when the BOINC client displays only "No work available" for over 24 hours, what do you think? <grin>

This depends entirely on the computers you were using. On THIS computer I'm using, SetiClassic took 3-4 hours/WU and SETI/BOINC takes 3-4 hours/WU. No difference. On my slower system at home, both projects take 6.5-8 hours/WU. Again no difference between the projects.

I found no difference between Classic and Boinc processing times (3-4 hrs.). The advantage to me with Boinc is that I can tell the software to use only 1 processor. Classic used to hog my entire machine.

It means exactly what it says, there are no more work units for now. Possibly a combination of how the units are processed now and ongoing work at Arecibo.
They encourage you to participate in other Boinc projects.

Finite Work Supply
I know this does not explain all the problems that Seti@H BOINC has had, but it tells you that thw WUWUs will run out at times. It is the function of BOINC to allow you to keep busy running other projects and Yes Woodrow I know there are not many other projects up to speed yet.

It is not my fault, I am a cranky Oldman. ;O}

Quite likely the splitters are not keeping up with demand. Some extra demand after an outage is just filling everyones queues.

However, I would seriously consider joining other BOINC projects as they become available. CPDN is going live on August 26th, but it requires a huge amount of HD, and a long commitment in time. Predictor will open account creation again after the CASP competition ends and some new hardware is installed (sound familiar?). There are other projects comming and under consideration.
