The support around the SETI-project is crap. In fact, there is no real support section. But anyways, I have this really annoying problem. I joined the original SETI@home project in 1999, and somewhere along the way, my hotmail-addy(which I used for signing up) got lost. I have absolutely no way of re-activating my 5-year-old Hotmail account, and no way of changing my email because I can't remember my 5-year-old password, and SETI@home can only send my 5-year-old password to my 5-year-old non-existing Hotmail addy. Now I've started a new account for the Boinc-SETI, and I just want my original SETI@Home hours moved to this new account. |

Hmm, do you remember your deactivated e-mail address? Since you can't reactivate your account, the address was probably deleted. So, try registering at hotmail for a new address, only make it the same as your old one. All that matters is that the address is the same, since that's what SETI has. Have SETI email your password to your new (same as old) address. If that won't work, I don't think you can do it. |

Well guys, to be honest I doubt it will matter. I sympathise with the problem, as I can see this would be frustrating. However, it would appear that the old classic results are to be thrown away anyway - therefore I wouldn't let it worry you too much. I have re-started with BOINC now that I know of it's existence, and SETI have messed up my member joining date, and my WUs processed. It seems there is very little help (as Tarmludde says) from the boys at SETI, and I for one am most annoyed at this lack of regard for us faithful members. So... since you probably won't get any recognition for all your previous hard work, I think your quest for the old numbers is probably in vain, I'm afraid. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like there's no-one other than each other to rely on in all of this mess. Rookie. |
