Ok I needed help with my signature and many helped me so I return the favor here.
In order to get a stats signature first go to http://www.boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/ and sign up for one

After you get the subscription e-mail with your password go back to the site and login. Change your colors or add a background image and hit update.

If you want your background color or image to show through copy the link that has the $trans=off line in it by highlighting it and hitting the control key and c.

Next go into your SETI@HOME account. Click on edit account info and in the signature section type the following:

nevermind....LOL

ok let me try this way..I will use {} where you should use

Next go into your SETI@HOME account. Click on edit account info and in the signature section type the following:
{img src=""}

now put your cursor between the 2 quotation marks and hit control v. This will copy the link from the statistics site to the signature edit area.
in the end it should look kind of like this:
{img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/stats.php?userID=####&trans=off"}

lol, not being able to use the > < signs on the board makes it really hard to give examples for sigs =) If you wanna know the secret to making the board show the signs though (like how they're magically appearing above), you need to do the following:

Type in an Ampersand (the & charachter, usually Shift+7)
Type in gt (stands for "greater-than") or lt (stands for "less-than")
Type in a semicolon (the ; charachter)

It should look like &gt ;, except WITHOUT the space before the semicolon (if I didn't have the space, my example would have been replaced by a greater-than sign =D)

There are also other "characther codes" that give special charachters. They follow the same format (ampersand, some letters, a trailing semicolon) in case you need them. A nice list is available here.

The trouble with trying to show someone on a message board how the HTML code works is that it executes when you post and changes its appearance. To see what CTLW83 meant go to his message and hit reply. Now look at what he wrote that made his signature work. All you should have to do is put your address inside the line instead of his.

Thanks for the help, people! I even donated a little to the person who does the work. Now mine work, and look nice.
