I've got several workunits in my queue that have their Report Deadlines past, but BOINC is continuing to crunch on them.

Is this work going to waste?

If so, there should be a feature added to detect and skip expired work units.

Yes it is.

You can detach en re-attach to the project in order to get rid of the processing of the WU's.

Not necessarily. If you get your WU in before it is resent and processed by someone else, I believe you will get credit for it.

In any case a reset is more in order than a detach/attach. detach/attach creates a new host entry on the server which has to be merged, and the attach can be painful.

Sorry for the wrong info concerning detach/ re-attach. Hope you are not in the problems due to it.
