I admit, I didn't switch over to BOINC right when it went officially live in June, but I waited a little while (still crunching SETI Classic).

Part of my reasoning was to wait while the bugs were "shaken out" of BOINC before joining (who'd have thought we'd STILL be dealing with that - but that's another topic for another day). The other part, is I wanted to get my Seti Classic WU count to an "even" number (in this case, 8000). So once I hit that number, THAT is when I switched to BOINC.

Imagine my disappointment to find that my SETI Classic WU count (seen via my profile in BOINC) still only displayed 7100+ WUs, and not the 8000 I had.

So long story short - is there any way that I can get my SETI Classic count updated to current numbers, instead of back in June (?) when they transferred the numbers originally?

They made a snapshot of everyones stats round may? and carried that figure over to BOINC. When SetiClassic stops they (the team) will eventually take a last snapshot of the amount of work and probably carry that over to BOINC.

Remember the stats of the two are not interchangeable since BOINC gives credit in a total different way. I.e. oranges and apples do not sum up.
When all other problems are sorted out, like the functioning of the servers and the system is stable they will have the time to bring the actual stats of BOINC up to date. So be patient...

Bear in mind that science and scientific research is not born overnight...Patience and firm belief in a research topic can take years, not to say in some cases a full lifetime of devotion.
You cannot expect that this totally new approach of global networkcomputing with all its pitfalls and problems is going to be solved over one night. We all have to learn from eventual mistakes and no one is to blame for raid failures. These things happen, even when the team would have unlimited financial recources, which is surely NOT the case I presume. I'm pretty sure most of us could NOT do the job better than they are doing for the moment.
In my case there is a difference between the actual registered WU and the real amount of 4000 WU less. I don't give a damn, because taking part in this event is more important than personal stats... Remember the spirit of the Olympics.

Patience seems to be rewarded in the end.
It however seems more comfortable for most people if they are better informed of wat is happening. So the humble advice to the team is: "Do your utmost to keep the supporting people aware of what is going on...". Even on this matter there is an amelioration.

Greetings to all die hard BOINC-ers from Belgium ;-))
