Is there a FAQ somewhere which deals with issues like use of the BOINC/SAH logos, registering BOINC-related domains, etc?

You can use the BOINC logo for free - a highress version is available here with information about fonts etc.
I'm not in the position to say anything about the SAH logo but would assume that you can use that freely as well.

Thanks. What about the policy on related domain names? I have registered boinc.co.nz and I'd like to use it for the good of the project, but only if the "brand owners" are happy for me to do so.

Looking around the BOINC site (and Googling), I can't find any references which could help me decide whether this is acceptable not. I can't even see who to contact and ask.

I see that many other people have registered similar domains and are using them for BOINC-related sites. However I like to do things by the book and get appropriate permissions before using someone else's brand.

Actually BOINC is a surfboard (or something?) so if anybody could claim the right to own that name it would probably not affect you anyway if you plan to do a website about Berkeleys Open Infrastructure for Networked Computing.

My guess is that you are not going to run into trouble at all - I can't make an official statement though.

Actually they encourage people to make and tell them about websites in foreign languages etc. here in their links-section.

...If you plan to sell surfboards it is very likely a whole other story =)

Okay, I'm going to assume that I have tacit approval to use the logo and domain name. I certainly tried my best to do it by the book and I doubt whether anyone is going to get too upset with me. Thanks Janus.
