Hi there,

I've got a strange problem that's meanwhile happened several times: I've lost some Seti-WU's. Yes, no kidding, they simply disappeared...:-(

In fact, they're still physically present in my projects-folder, but they're invisible to my BOINC-client, that means they're not being shown in the 'Work'-tab and won't be calculated therefore. As this didn't only happen to my iMac but also to my Athlon-PC, I guess it must have something to do with the BOINC-Client.

Is there any way to add missing WU's manually to one of the numerous xml-files so that the client can run them again? Or any other chance to make it clear to my lazy client that there's still some work left to do?

Need some good advice...:-)

Thank you.
Stefan

These are indeed "ghost wu's". This is known to happen sometimes. We're not really sure what causes it but don't worry about them. The only way I know of to get rid of them is set the project for "no new work" and finish crunching any wu's you do have listed. When these are finished click on "update project". Now check to see if they have been removed. If not, click on "reset project". This will reset the project and remove any ghosts from your disk. Then click on "allow new work" and download more wu's. Be sure not to reset the project until you have finished any wu's that you have and reported them successfully.
