I understand that all WUs received after the 11th, are no good now. And that I may have to reset the client to remove them.

But, I'm sorry I have a total of 32 WUs. Seventeen of which were downloaded before the 11th. And of the 17, one was uploaded over 5 days ago. And the client was never able to report it. And I have anotherm 5 more, that are ready to upload. Yet the servers are down, still.

What am I supposed to do with the 17 WUs that I had gotten before the 11th? Am I going to have to trash them, along with those that were gotten after the 11th?

I am very suprised that for such a mission critical project as this. That the S@H project team is not doing daily backups. So that problems like this never happen.

The way I see it, this type of problem should never happen again. But, if it does... And we the "SuperComputer" have to waste our time. And trash any of the work we have already done for them. All because they have to restore from a backup that is more then 1 day old. This means any kind of backup, tape/disk/old DB/etc..

Then the project should be canceled. As the project team do not know what the #$@% they are doing.

I personally would stop processing WUs, periodically check to see if the servers are back up and if they are let the client upload/report whatever it can. Then reset the project.

Others may have better suggestions...

All mine have now uploaded. So I suggest you let the uploads happen when they are ready.

I cleared out my "bogus" WUs by going to the "Projects" tab and right clicking the SETI project. A context menu comes up with an option to "Reset Project". After doing this I am BOINCing right along again! L8R....

WUs that cannot be uploaded for some reason will be discarded after a couple of weeks of failures. Most of the WUs will either be uploaded or discarded fairly soon.

Resetting throws away any work that you are currently processing. Uploading means that it will be discarded at the server if the server does not recognize that you sent it.
