Thanks Dan

Actual world SETI Position according to todays Boinc Stats is 9043. Moved up another 405 positions since yesterday, Ya Me,,lol.

Now if I can hold my systems together , I will be doing fine. Another break down today, lost a power supply in one of the P-4's. Good thing I keep spare parts handy, lol.

5000 on SETI
& 15000 total BOINC

Modest by the last few postings, but every little bit helps (I keep telling myself)

Great Job!

There are more people doing a little bit then there are those turning huge amounts. And you are right, every little bit does count.

If you are wanting to turn in more though. You might look into useing Crunchr3's seti app, and trux's Boinc client. Would help your p-4 turn out more work, and bring that machines RAC up by a little more than double most likely. Those you could do a little bit more with the same amount of machines.

And for AKH54's Mac, Team MacNN has an optimized S@h app. I've been using it for a while with next to no problems and considerably improved throughput, under the standard (Menubar version) BOINC client. Just make sure to get the correct version for your system: each combination of OS (Panther or Tiger) and CPU (G4 or G5) has its own.

Cool Odysseus, I don't run any macs, so did not know about the optimized app for them. Learn something every day as they say.

It was not that long ago I was there as well AKH54. I just have a few more machines is all.

On that note, looks like the Team is finally going to roll over 100K total Boinc in the next day or maybe two.

I can't work out what chip version is in my PC for the Crunchr3's app & never heard of the Trux's version?

Can you give me more info ie Team MacNN???, Who are they and where do I get the optimised app (I have a PM G4 400/AGP running 10.3.9 (Panther) it's an old machine but I prefer to work on it)

Here is the link to Trux's web site for the Boinc Client
Trux's Client

And here is the link to Crunchr3's Site, the App you are looking for is windows, most likely for p-4 SSE2 instructions.
Crunchr3's App Site

Also there is a cpu id program located here called cpu-z. This will tell you what your cpu supports and let you better understand which crunchr3 version you need for sure.

With that said

Team finally busted 100k Total Boinc.

Also Congratulations to 3quarks on 250K, Way to go!!

See this topic on the Q&A forum, in particular the link to the Team MacNN forum thread where updated versions are posted.

Make sure you get the Panther version; I unknowingly installed a version meant for Tiger at first, and my system spewed erroneous results for a weekend before I caught it.
