At 05:58 hours 8.11.04 here in Southwest China I have recieved 12 new wu's on my home computer. Now that wu's are flowing, could credit's be far behind? Xi3 reporting live from Chongqing,China. <a> [/url] |

I received 2wu's on one rig and 32 on another today. Now that they are copying the directories to the Snap 18000 we should start to see more this week and maybe even some credits before the week is over. I won't hold my breath, however. |

I read somewhere that there was a limit of 50 WU's assigned per day, or something to that effect. If that is correct, what happens if you recieve a greater amount? Aren't they assigned by the effectivness of your box? Thank you in advance. Regards, Rocky |

I doubt there is any computer out there that can process that many WU's in a day. During the Beta test there were some computers that would process WU's in just a few seconds and return them. Those computers would download WU's continuously. They never did find out what caused this so they just put the 50WU/day limit on. |

It may happed if in that time was a midnight in Berkeley. You may donwload 50 WU's before and another 50WU's after midnight there. Here is 9 hours more, so if I downalod 50Wu till 9am, I may download another 50WU's after 9am local time, but then I'm out till tomorrow morning 9am (it happend to me already). > Thanks, > I was curious because, I have recieved today more than 50 WU's for the first > time. > > Warm Regards, > > Rocky Try WAP user info http://slavko.sk/wap/seti |

I am just a bit curious as to why it would be undesireable for wu's to be completed in a few seconds?? lol Sounds like a grid computing dream.. We should all be so lucky to have such efficient systems.. Also, as for wu's "expiring" I should think any time out should be applied VERY liberaly. What happens when you go on vacation for a week or a month or are running on seldom visited "remote" sites and during this time the network traffic fails? The systems could happily crunch away and when the net is restored resume sending even if a few weeks past "due date". Since these sporadic incidents are not of major project impact there is no reason to "flush" them prematurely. The results can be handled in some accounting fashion so that all team members recieve appropriate credits even for redundant wu's. Alfred |
