Message 15116 - Posted: 10 Aug 2004, 7:55:51 UTC

Is there anyone out there that can solve the issue of an invisible team member, namely myself. I have already joined a team, and yet when i click on the team link, it shows that there are 3 people in the team, but im still not listed below where it states the team members. Any ideas on how to solve the problem.

P.S. i have quit the team, and rejoined it, thinking it may solve the issue, but it didnt, so please no posts stating this. Thanks

Yes, it is annoying but there is a very good reason for it. They imported 3.3 million users from seti-classic (all the non-zero ones). However currently there are a mere 33,000 users in SAH/BOINC. So 99% of their database is useless deadweight. This was bogging down the servers and making the stats file that people (such as myself) download to make their stats sites HUGE. We are talking 1 GB (almost exactly). After they took out the 0 credit members, that file shrunk down to 11 MB. It also cut the time it takes me to parse the file from 3 hours to 2 minutes or less.

Bear with it... I think they are about to bring that new database storage online and then we should see some massive jumps in credit. Please buckle your seatbelts and move your seats to the full upright position. It will be a rough ride :)

Good to see that 12 years of schooling went to waste on you Toby. Don't bother to post anything about this situation, unless it's constructive, and preferably without the critism. Thanks

Well first of all I just completed my Bachelor of Science, bringing my schooling up to 17 years. Also, I am extremely confused by your post. I was not trying to be critical of anyone and I'm not sure where you got that impression. The reason I posted the first time was to try to convey WHY people with 0 credit aren't being shown. If you consider that 'not constructive' then I apologize for cluttering up your thread...

I believe he was thinking your comment of "Time to file this thread under "what happens when nerds get bored" :)" was directed at him instead of to Zain Upton or PyroFox.
