how to transfer units from computer to computer?

hi ev1, i had 2 computers dooing boinc seti but one is fryed, i manage to save the hardrive and trafered 12 wu i had on it to my main rig. why question is how do i get my maine rig to reconize thoose wu? i tried reinstalling boinc and it still dont see thoose units...and yes i have them in the correct folder :) any help would be deeply apreciated thankx in advance. |

Not being able to transfer WUs from machine to machine is an anti-cheat technique. |

I have asked this question myself, and the answer given to me was that there was indeed a way to do it but it would require the modification of so many files that it wouldn't be worth the time and effort to do it... |

I had luck running the boinc_cli from a command prompt using a boinc install that is on my USB key which I move around. |

Even if it is possible, you really shouldn't be doing it. Work units are no longer sent out to whoever asks for them. They are sent to a specific computer and the result is expected from the same computer. If you change this, it could have 'unwanted' effects on the database and/or your credit. I don't think the validator would accept the returned results from computers that weren't assigned to that work unit. Or at least it shouldn't...
