I downloaded the boinc sofware today, sunday august 8 and uninstalled seti@home classic. After restarting the computer and ptting in the url and account id after activating my old seti account the software said "defering comunication with project for 1 minute and 0 seconds" after a while i kept telling it to update as i looked at the network status page and no bytes were sent or recieved. my setup consists of windows xp home, a dsl modem and a wireless network using 128 bit wep encryption but this computer connects to the network and sends and recieves information just fine through any other program. i even exited the program and restart it and then the computer. any information would greatly be appreciated. email is sk8ingdanny@yahoo.com

The reason that the connection is being deferred is usually one or two lines up in the log. Please post some more information to help with the diagnosis.

The servers are more on the down side right now so it may be a problem on Berkeley's end. Look for more reliable servers in a few days.
