Well, I finally got a bunch of work units downloaded. The first two processed normally, but now the BOINC client just sits there. I show several WUs on th WORK tab of the GUI, but none of them are in process.

I've stopped/started the GUI client. stopped that and run the CLI version. re-booted. no change, still just sits there.

Anybody have any clues?

Are they listed as 'ready to run'?

I have exactly the same issue here.
At last units to crunch, they stand listed as "ready to run" and nothing happens.

I ran benchmarks, tried everything i could think of: nothing exactly like Ken, it stops after the first two processed new units.

Any takes?

Were there any errors reported during the download, such as an "MD5" failure?
Do you still have sufficient disk space?
How large is your stderr.txt file? Does it show any errors?

If you installed the service, did you remove/uninstall it before rebooting? If not, did you stop it from starting automatically?
IMHO, it is not a good idea to play with the CLI at the moment, as the GUI and CLI do not play well together when run simultaneously.

How many BOINC / seti@home processes do you have showing in task manager?

Errors during download ?
NO

Sufficient disk space?
> 6GB on C: >10GB on D:

Size of stderr? 0kb

Remive/reinstall Service?
I leave the Service define, but stop it when running the GUI, then restart afterward

Number of Processes?
1 - Either boinc_gui or boinc_cli, no seticli08 at all (to be expected, since the GUI shows no running WUs and the CLI does NOT display "Resuming computations for ...."

Sure am glad I left Classic installed. At least I'm still crunching while I wait!!!

0kbs. It only mentions this 20 times:
Scheduler RPC to http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed
2004-08-09 16:34:01 [SETI@home] No schedulers responded

*Yes, I tried this as well. I uninstalled , rebooted, reinstalled ...to no avail.

If

*no.

* I read that, I do not run those both at the same time. I exited Boinc till I can figure out what's wrong. I have to check many things since I am only a wannabe computer nerd :P

*only the seti@home 3.08.i command line for about 15.000kbs.

Thank you for your kind reply!

Well, they magically started processing again.

Came home and one WU was complete, and one was 75% done.

I've got nothing but admiration for the people who came up with SetiClassic and it's disributed processing modsel, but if I was paying for SetiBoinc, I wouldn't be paying for it, if you know what I mean.

They released what was basically BETA code to the public, and had no clue what kind of hardware would be needed to support the number of users that jumped on the new client. It's not like no one had a clue how many SetiClassic clients there were.

Project Planning like that gets project managers fired in the business world.
