I tried adding an image to my profile. It is a jpeg image, height is 449 pixels (less than the 450 maximum mentioned). Size is about 17K (less than the 50K maximum mentioned). However, the picture never shows up in my profile. When I view the profile, it isn't there. When I return to the preferences screen, the input box for the image location is blank again. Also, when editing the profile, it says we can use HTML. There's a link to a list of html tags we can use, which include the anchor and img tags. However, when I tried to use those tags, it stripped all the arguments out. I think that "help" link should be updated. More information. I tried converting the file to PNG, still didn't work. I also tried using both Mozilla and MSIE as the browsers when specifying the picture file, still didn't work. I also resized the picture so it's height is a maximum of 200 pixels and the file size was only 4K, still didn't work. ------- Kevin Lowey - University of Saskatchewan Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans - John Lennon |

Hi, Only thing I can think of ... the image has to be either JPEG or PNG. It is normal for the filename box to be empty when you go back. I've had no luck using either img or anchor tags in the profile either... EDIT: OK - Just re-read your post, sorry, you were already using a JPEG image. -- <p>Regards, Paul - Just slowly BOINCing along...</p> |

Just in case, I tried converting the image to png as well, but no go. Still no picture. ------- Kevin Lowey - University of Saskatchewan Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans - John Lennon |

Hi, > Just in case, I tried converting the image to png as well, but no go. Still no > picture. Wonder if it's worth trying a smaller (pixel wise) image ... maybe Berkeley pixels aren't the same as normal pixels LOL... Unless of course it's been disabled at the moment - maybe there is someone else 'in the know'. -- <p>Regards, Paul - Just slowly BOINCing along...</p> |

> >Wonder if it's worth trying a smaller (pixel wise) image ... maybe Berkeley >pixels aren't the same as normal pixels LOL... > I've tried using both a 275 (W) x 344 (H) pixel, 43K jpg and a 80 (W) x 100 (H), 12K jpg. Neither have displayed. I've even tried '.jpeg' as the extension, JIC. > > Unless of course it's been disabled at the moment - maybe there is someone > else 'in the know'. > This is a definite possibility, a number of things are "temporarily turned off," the "Results" and "Pending Credit" displays for example. Profile images may be one (of the many) things they haven't bothered to tell us about. <P>"They better be out there, I think S@H needs their help" </P><a> [/url] |
