be patient and you will get wu's.. over the past 2 days I got my 20 wu's. also use classic seti until you get wu's... keep boinc running and connecting in order to get the wu;s. just be patient. ttyl Jeff (Nightowl) All your answers in one spot: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/transition.php ===== If you dont like Boinc, then go back to classic seti. |

Consider that there are three failure messages to deal with (1)no scheduler, 2)no work available, and 3) work avail. but insufficiant disk space). Also I have tried every suggestion on the disk space error - nothing doin. When the default deferral period before reconnect is over an hour after only two failures, exactly how long am I supposed to leave my line tied up? (and please don't suggest auto-dial) Perhaps the better question is - how long (in weeks) should I give BOINC-SETI before I can expect their servers to be able to deliver WU's consistantly? Seeing as how none of the other two BOINC projects are working yet either, I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that this ain't easy. But can't we have a peek at the gameplan? Can't someone say "We are at least 3 weeks from steady WU distribution" and then if it takes 4 weeks so be it. Sorry, that was "6 days with BOINC and not one WU from any project" rolled into one rant. Seti Classic is still crunching, and maybe the BOINC folks are right on the edge of getting it going. Or maybe they are just on the edge. Either way it would be nice to have a "soon/not soon" prediction... |
