Does boinc have problems running with this cpu??? All my WU take about 3 hours.. I also have it overclocked from 1.8ghz to 2.05ghz. Does anyone else have a Barton 2500+ with the same results?

Hmm.. I just looked at a comparison chart and it seems that my times are about right.. I just need to download the optimized client to save about 2000 seconds

Yep thats about like my old XP 2800.
I used Crunch3r's otimised clients they are the fastest i think, took me 1.4 hours to crunch 1 wu.

One of the things that is not often mentioned is the effect of a low spec motherboard. The same cpu in a high spec MB may be 20% quicker than a low spec MB with slow memory.
Its not just the cpu. So if your look for a machine to crunch with its worth paying a few more notes for a decent MB/ram combo

Thorz, I have just the same CPU and slightly overclocked, plus with the optimized 5.2.13 from Crunch3r, it does a WU in about 1:45.

2500+ Barton, oh sweet, same here.
Just stick it on a 400Mhz bus. Change nothing else.
All temps been A-ok for over a year.

Good buy, good buy.
Now you will have a 3200+ Barton. ;)

2500+ overclocked to 2105 Mhz using Crunch3rs app 1hr 10min to 1hr 20min
98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.
