Help me please!! I changed from boinc 4.45 to boinc 5.2.13 last hour. I set my internal LAN proxy use port 8080 ( boinc 4.45 work fine.) But boinc 5.2.13 has some error. 20/12/2548 23:47:03||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu] 20/12/2548 23:47:03|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 22no04aa.209.12818.242328.88_2_0: system I/O 20/12/2548 23:47:03|SETI@home|Backing off 1 minutes and 0 seconds on upload of file 22no04aa.209.12818.242328.88_2_0 20/12/2548 23:56:29|SETI@home|Started upload of 22no04aa.209.12818.242328.88_2_0 20/12/2548 23:56:51||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu] 20/12/2548 23:56:52|SETI@home|Temporarily failed upload of 22no04aa.209.12818.242328.88_2_0: system I/O 20/12/2548 23:56:52|SETI@home|Backing off 34 minutes and 41 seconds on upload of file 22no04aa.209.12818.242328.88_2_0 21/12/2548 0:24:17||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 21/12/2548 0:24:20|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 21/12/2548 0:24:20|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 21/12/2548 0:24:20|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 21/12/2548 0:24:42||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu] 21/12/2548 0:24:45|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106 21/12/2548 0:24:45|SETI@home|No schedulers responded 21/12/2548 0:25:45|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 21/12/2548 0:25:45|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 21/12/2548 0:25:45|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 21/12/2548 0:26:07||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu] 21/12/2548 0:26:10|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106 21/12/2548 0:26:10|SETI@home|No schedulers responded 21/12/2548 0:27:10|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 21/12/2548 0:27:10|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 21/12/2548 0:27:10|SETI@home|Note: not requesting new work or reporting results 21/12/2548 0:27:32||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu] 21/12/2548 0:27:35|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of -106 21/12/2548 0:27:35|SETI@home|No schedulers responded Thanks. |

Do you actually have a proxy server using port 8080 on your LAN? Are you using an external proxy server? Do you also have a proxy enabled in the settings for your web browser? If not, and you use proxy settings inappropriately, then, this failure will happen. Have you tried running boinc with the proxy settings cleared, i.e. disabled? look at the bottom right hand corner of the boinc manager window, does it say "connected to localhost" OR "disconnected" |

1) do a hard reboot, not just restart OR 2) click "File", "Select computer", leave boxes empty, click OK OR 3) click File, select computer, type in"localhost", leave password blank, click OK OR 4) click File, Select computer, type in "127.0.0.1", leave password blank, click OK does any of this help? there's more, but my fingers are tired tony |

1) do a hard reboot, not just restart Hi Tony, I'm sorry for your fingers... But there is hope! I turned my computer totally power-off and on again and that worked!!! Boinc started directly with the fetch of a new workunit and went to work hard... Thanks for your advices!! |

just so you know Jan, it lost connection to port 1043 as a loopback address (communication port, network comms) between the boinc manager (boincmgr.exe), and the daemon (boinc.exe). Shutting down allowed boinc to get that port back tony |

Shutting down allowed boinc to get that port back Thanks for explanation. The problem is that my computer is always running, so normally I do never a real shutdown. Maybe I should do that more often. Thanks again!! |

It was probably some program update (like windows update). don't fret, it's not very common |
