If anyone is experiencing WU's hung up in transfer, which can prevent WU's in the work section from uploading on retry, here's the simple solution. In the transfer section of the client, right click a WU, left click retry. Repeat this process after the previous WU has cleared, until all the WU's in transfer are gone. Then go to projects tab, right click the project, then left click retry. If the scheduler is responding, this manual procedure will clear the completed WU's on your host. Good luck... That works.. But you should exercise a little bit of caution when doing that, especially now when the servers are overloaded as is. Too many people doing that all at once can cause the servers to basically be hammered with requests. That's why BOINC backs off on uploading them for random amounts of time. If you just wait they will upload on their own as the backoff delays for each unit expire. That's not to say don't do it at all. If there is are some that just have excessively long times on them or something then fine, but otherwise you might want to ask yourself how much that extra 10 minutes to 3 or 4 hours to upload the unit really means to you. Just some food for thought. Incidentally, an afterthought I just had was also the fact that a lot of the time, BOINC for some reason does not clear the unit off of the "Work" tab even after it has already been uploaded. If a complete workunit does not show up in the "transfers" tab, then it has already been uploaded. I think that units that haven't been uploaded yet also show their status as "uploading" on the work tab and I think those that have been uploaded show it as "ready to return result." I'm reasonably sure that's how it's worked on my computers over the past several days. I'm not sure quite why it does that, but that just seems to be how it is. Those you can get rid of by going to the "projects" tab, right clicking SETI@home, and clicking update. They clear eventually on their own it seems, but I'm not sure under what circumstances. So since it isn't really necessary to do, it should probably also only be done when the servers are struggling to keep up with requests anyway, especially since updating also generally requests more work (if your preferences allow).
