I use Setiathome 3.08 and Boinc 3.19 in Windows XP service pack 1 platform. My settings require a http proxy with authentication. When Boinc tries to upload the first result, the client dies with the error: Reason: Access Violation (0xc0000005 at address 0x00401D68 write attempt to address 0x73614220 Please help! Alexhs |

This issue is popping up all over. There appears to be a bug in to Proxy Authentication portion of Boinc. |

I have found that changing the proxy from a HTTP based on to a SOCKS based on in the client_state.xml file stops BOINC crashing with the error shown in the first posting of this thread. But not I am getting connection denied errors. I think that the SETI@HOME/BOINC setup isn't working (but somebody else could probably confirm this). So I can only presume that the encryption of the password for the HTTP proxy authentication is broken in some way. Regards, Christopher |
