I downloaded ORCA and it just isn't intuitive to me what needs to be done ... can someone offer detailed assistance ...

Um, mondobyte, you DO realize that you are off into the developer section of the site? This is telling you how to CREATE a version of BOINC. If you're truly trying to do this, then this question needs to be posted on the appropriate developer mailing list.
