Was with SETI for a long time. I pretty much quit when they first started Boink and I just couldn't figure it out how to get it running. Last night I tried and got Boink going and just noticed I had my first "Work" completed and another started. My problem is, how do I send out my completed work before the "Report Deadline"? I finally got Boink running and sure don't want to loose my fird chunk of "Work".
Any suggestions appreciated .. and " "Thanks" in advance.

Hi Isaac,
If your WU's( Work Units) don't upload automatically, you can click on the update button in the BOINC manager. If you're running more than Seti, just click on Seti in the right hand side under project THEN hit the update button.

Happy Crunching!

I looked at your results and I see that you have three in already.

Results

You are getting them turned in in plenty of time. Something you may want to try is to increase your cache a little.

If you click on the "YOUR ACCOUNTS" at the top of the page and then go down to the blue "View or edit general preferences" and click on it you will see a place that says "Connect to network about every". If you click the blue "edit preferences" at the bottom of the page you can edit it to a bigger number. That will increase the number of work units that you will have in your BOINC manager ready to run. You may want to change it a little at a time to see how things are running.

Congrats :) I see you already have credit granted - so you're already well on your way ;)

Well, most of the time you shouldn't have any problems with that. BOINC makes sure you won't get more work than your computer can handle, by running benchmarks at a regular basis and keeping track of how much time it is on, as well as how much time the BOINC client is running.

However, if you are going on a vacation or something which means your computer will be turned off for a longer period of time, you might want to turn off work fetch in advance. This way it gets the oppurtunity to clear the cache before you leave, and you won't end up having a bunch of work that is overdue when you come back.

To turn off work fetch, open the BOINC manager and select the Projects tab. The select SETI@home and then click on the No new work button on the left. To turn it back on, follow the same steps, only now the button to click on is called Allow new work.
