I use Windows98 by choice, XP is too unstable and it's too much trouble to remove it and go back to 2000. I have Seti classic installed and can run both classic and BOINC simultaneously. I have classic set so that it does not run when I start Windows. I manually start classic when I see that BOINC is down again. This seems to prevent to angst of wasting my cycles while BOINC is learning how to work.
