Is there any way to get new work from the server.. I'm holding two completed projects and have been unable to upload them for days. |

Front page news:December 8, 2005 We are experiencing heavy traffic on our data server. This is currently preventing some result uploads, but is getting better over time. More in Technical News. Just wait it out... it will fix itself soon. In the mean time, consider attaching to other projects. Here's an Installation Guide. Try the Wiki for other questions. |

Something is not right. I cannot even connect to the project. I upgraded to the latest release of BOINC 2 days ago, and now cannot connect to SETI. Prior to that, I had about 10 finished WU that were waiting to be uploaded to the server for about a month. I guess I lost those. |

I have 10 finished projects, upload is not working for a week. Now even scheduler is not working and no more downloads. |

Just wait it out... it will fix itself soon. In the mean time, consider attaching to other projects. Well. But what exactly mean "soon"? (ten, twelve, fourty, hundred days?) I am calculate seticlassic more than 6 years but I don`t remember any terrible problems with server like with Boinc... On server status appears that scheduler running, but clients still can`t connect to download workunits. |

HI, I too am in the same boat, with tens of work units done and no way to upload. The SETI team realy must get its act together. In the change to BOINC they appear to have alienated over FIVE MILLION Seti classic contributors. To add insult to injury they are now pissing of a great many of the 300,000 or so stalwarts who braved the switch in the cause of doing what the worlds governments should have been doing in the first place. All the news media publicity about Seti@home in many countries down the drain. If I were Mulder I'd think there was a conspiracy going on here! What better way for the US goverment to put an end to SETI than to orchestrate the scew ups that have take place since the inception of BOINC. As so many others have said, its a good time to start looking at other projects or elsewhere, perhaps even IBM's networked community! |

Hi trasher, The scheduler is up, as you said, but the feeder is down. The feeder passes the workunits to the scheduler, from the ready to send queue, so unless the feeder is enabled (running) the scheduler has nothing to hand out to the clients. The Results ready to send queue is what the feeder will have to work with when it is eventually enabled. It is currently mid-morning on Monday in Berkeley, so the staff is back from the Weekend. For future reference, questions and comments regarding the servers and client are best asked on the Number Crunching board or over at the help desk. We try to keep this board on the topic of science. Thanks. Just wait it out... it will fix itself soon. In the mean time, consider attaching to other projects. |
