from the local machine.

Several users of my team including myself are experiencing this.

Is this supposed to be or is it another "bug in the scheduling code" :-)

All of my WU's have uploaded, I saw many of them upload on their own, the rest I used Retry.

I am hoping they went to the right place and not limbo. I guess after things are sorted out I might find out.

Hi Kristen,
If you are connected, finished WU's are uploaded automatically when you get a connection with the scheduler. If your host is out of work when it connects with the scheduler, then your WU's that are "ready to report" are reported automatically. I've had 129 completed WU's "upload" and "report" automatically in the last 36 hours. I've downloaded 2 new WU's in the same time period.

:-)

I sure hope so.

Before I manually had to hit the update button to report finished wu's (and I'm always connected). Now finished and uploaded units are reporting themselves :-)

I'm one the users who lost credits for around 100 units due to the previous bug in the schedule code. It's not so important with credits for me - I think of the project and of the many users for whom the credits play a role.

The members of my team hardly dare to return work units anymore :-(

Kristen, like Richard said, whenever your PC makes a successful contact with the server any Finished WU's will Report (If the are Uploaded already and be flushed from your PC much like Seit Classic does.

I've had a couple Hundred already Uplaod and about 3/4's of them Report already.

Okay, I understand the above, thank you.

But what above Johnny Nielsen's post? (Two or three posts before this). Johnny has reported 'lost' units in our team forum.

==========

If the WU didn't show a Ready to Report status then there is a good chance the WU was lost indeed from what that message is saying. I can't be absolutly sure about that though. A Dev would be better off replying to that question I would guess...

Hi Johnny,
I've uploaded results and recieved the same message from the server.
PoorBoy may be right, the data might have been lost in the transfer.
Without having the results or pending credit viewable there's no way of knowing for sure if the data did indeed get through. I'm hoping that the data went through in a previous upload and didn't get confirmed by the scheduler.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Basically from what I can tell we have come full circle again. After being down for 6 days with a bug in the programing or coding that prevented returned results from being reported properly we have a new bug or the same bug, I don't know.

It sad, really sad is all I can say. Will the last one out of the building please turn off the lights ... :/

wtf did the answer go... Anyway, BOINC saves how much you've transferred of a file, and starts from this point and not zero then continue. "no data transferred" is showing then already come to the end-point, but havent got the "ok" back. The result will also have changed to "ready to report". Of course, if you've successfully talked to the scheduler later, it's removed. ;)

BTW, the whole point of doing exponential backoff is "to avoid flooding servers". Constantly hitting "retry" is not helping things at all.
