How do I get rid of the stupid Bionic screensaver? I only want the seti screensaver running when the puter is idle. Even in the preferences for windows, there is no seti screensaver listed there, only the Bionic. I do NOT want the Bionic screensaver, it sucks, thanks, Doc.

I don't run screensavers but I guess set it in windows to none, and see what happens. Then maybe edit in Your Account, Seti preferences, screensaver options.
Sorry I cannot offer more help. But you mat get more response on the Number crunches board. But, when I asked if people ran screensavers, and could they give help on problems/preferences, I was deafen by the silence. I guess most people don't run them.

I don't understand your response, the seti screensaver is not listed in the screensavers (it used to be until I updated this dumb Bionic manager), thanks for your help, Doc.

I agree.. I want the old screensaver back. I had it on here even after the upgrade and for some reason today it's gone. I won't leave my computer on with the new one as I liked to look at the seti one..

The SETI screen saver is part of the SETI science app and will only launch when running. In order to have the SETI screen saver, BOINC (not bionic) must be selected in the screen saver list. If SETI is the active project, the SETI screen saver will be used.

If you are using an optimized science app, they have taken out the screen saver as it reduces crunching speed, so BOINC will default back to it's generic screen saver.

Also, if you are using an ATI graphics chip, there is some known compatibility issues with ATI chips and the SETI screen saver, but you will typically get a blank screen instead of the BOINC generic screen saver.

In addition, if you are running as a service, you will have to change the logon for the service to "local system" and allow interaction with desktop.
