Hi all! I was wondering if anybody is uploading or downloading any results today. Yesterday I managed to upload 3 results and download 30 Wu. But today no down- or uploads working. So has the situations turned worse since yesterday. The WFV number hasn't changed recently (I think). BTW I have 22 results waiting to be uploaded. Regards Rayburner |

I'm well over 100, but I've also added a machine in the last few days (1.73 GHz laptop with a gig of memory that crunches a WU in about 4800, give or take), so that is rapidly bumping up my total waiting. The last major outage (in August) saw me hit 343 pending before they got everything back up to speed, so I have a long way to go to hit that, at least 3 or 4 days... ;-) Stewie: So, is there any tread left on the tires? I have 15 waiting to return. I would like to point out that this has happened before and will probably happen again sometime in the future. It doesn't make it any less frustrating for us, but we must remember that the SETI project does have limited resources and is gaining in popularity all the time. Bit of a victim of their own success really. Agreed. But for overseas users the problems are multiplied many time by network lag. Every time Seti Boinc has an outage, overseas users have to wait for all the north american users to complete their uploads\\downloads before the servers at Berkely allow the overseas clients enough time to respond. This has got past the stage of frustrastion and is rapidly approaching unworkable. |

I've got 50 to upload still. I've had the good fortune to see 11 upload in the last day but it is impossible to get them to report, even if I try to update manually. All I get is.... 10/12/2005 5:17:41 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of 500 10/12/2005 5:17:41 PM|SETI@home|No schedulers responded 10/12/2005 5:17:46 PM||Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu] Is this also a symptom of the ongoing problems...?. |

I've got a bunch waiting to upload sure BUT outages like this is how I hit my record single day for credit - right now my best day ever was September 12th with 19093. This looks like it might beat that and break 20k by the time it's fixed, assuming the vaildators run fast when everything gets reported of course! There's always a silver lining - you just gotta look for it ;) Tomcat's Taekwondo Pages |

About 60 trying to upload, with some getting through over the day. Have set both machines to 'no new work'from SETI so if they run out of SETI they'll switch to Einstein instead. Enough work to do there untill SETI returns to normal. Rob. |

I have 3,304 waiting to upload at this time. Average upload speed of the servers is 29.84 results per minute. At this rate, it will take 86.9 DAYS to clear the backlog. I don't know for sure but I think that when SETI is operating correctly it can handle a lot more than 29.84 per minute. After what ever happened to servers last Sunday someone had figured that 3 per second where getting through on uploads. At the same time the 3 where being handled thousands of other uncompleted transfers where also being handled. They didn't complete transferring but I think enough of the packets were showing up as a huge load on the inr-668 graphs. My Linux machine would show that even though the transfer failed, 3% of it usually succeeded. Sometimes 100%+ made it and still failed. |

I turned my 3 slower machines back on for seti, now i'm up to about 15. I am really posting this to claim the "one Hundredth" post spot. LOL |
