after many days off the system was brought up again on 2 august...and it still doesn't work

All I've had are messages telling me that no schedulers responded.
what is really going on?

another query is are we mushrooms?? - - anser is:- probably not - because at least they get fed shit when they are kept in the dark - we weren't told anything.

Come on Berkeley - let the providers of this wonderful free resource know what's happeneing.

I'm writing this at 6AM on 4 August 2004 - - and I still can't get WUs even thought the gods at Berkeley try to placate us with the front page lies:-

"August 3, 2004
While the project is up and functioning normally, the database and web servers are overloaded. Because of this you may have noticed difficulty in transferring work and loading certain web pages. We're tuning these servers and trying to find the bottlenecks now. "

The biggest problem to come out of this fiasco is the lack of communication.

How many hundreds of hours of tutorial time is given to "communication" at UC Berkeley?? Obviously none of the computer hard heads bothered to attend.

David Anderson - etal - talk to the providers of your free computing power. Let us know what's going on, even if all you do is feed the mushrooms shit.
