morning, if you look to the left of that number, it says "as of" March 15th 2005. They will take another snapshot of the DB and update these figures when classic closes. In the mean time stats are still exported via xml to third party stats sites and are up to date. See the bottom line of my signature for my up to date classic numbers.

hope this helps

Boincstats and enter your username into search box.

My team boincsynergy made my signature, but there are many out there, just look around the forums for one style you like. Some don't require being a team member.

We also have this question. I had 47 credits and my wife had over 1000 credits and she's even more upset than I am that we haven't been able to transfer credits.

I created my Boink account first and then linked my old classic account to it (probably not the best way to go, I think I figured out later), but still none of the classic credits show up in the new account. In fact, not only are there no credits showing in the new Boinc account yet, even when I do a search at the boinkstats site, NEITHER account username even appears to exist. The only evidence I have of my old stats is my user_info.saf file in the old seti program folder.

Update (later the same evening) -
I think I successfully joined my classic and boinc accounts and my new boinc account is showing my 47 classic credits.

My wife is still having problems because we can't login to her classic account using even the password extracted from the user_info.saf file. Her old email address is also dead, so we can't get the account key emailed to the dead address and we can't change the dead email address to her new one since the extracted password won't work. Catch-22, eh? We've sent an email request for help (with all the details and the user_info.saf file itself) to setidba@ssl.berkeley.edu and hope to receive a solution by reply email. Her loss would be far greater than mine. Her saf file showed 1,005 work units completed - way more than my measely 47.

If you want to see what your current stats are from the seti classic web site, the classic web site still exists and is updated. The link to the individual user stats is here.

unfortunately I had over 4500 completed and that site shows zero. I have been registered for over 6 years and do not find this amusing.

Has your e-mail address changed since you originally signed up with classic? You might try all the addresses you could have been registered under and then if you find the missing credits see if that can be linked to your BOINC account.

Tom, Yes it has and I changed it when classic was still active. I have tried the old one but it is not recognized either.

If you've still got the files (or a backup) from classic you can extract your e-mail address and password from the user_info.sah file and use it to link the two accounts together.

The form to link the two accounts is here (accessible from the home page), and the form to extract your user information is here (accessible from the previous page).

I tried this form to migrate from classic seti-account to my new. I know all I need: emailadress, account-key, password. But when I send the form (button 'link to existing account'), I only get the message "must supply an email adress"

What went wrong? I tried it with different browsers (firefox, konqueror), all the same.

There is a bug in the html-code. The emailadress has not only to be in the field downside but in the filed upside, too.

Looking at your account, I see:

SETI@home classic workunits 10,811
SETI@home classic CPU time 61,059 hours

Those credits are as of 15 March 2005.

It was a snapshot made of the Seti Classic database on the 15th of March 2005. Seti/Boinc cannot update the Classic database in realtime, as the whole Classic database needs to be offline to make a snapshot. So the next and last update will be done once Classic shuts down.

You start from zero credits in Seti/Boinc. Read this FAQ in the Wiki on that. The credits in Classic aren't compatible with the credits in Boinc. So the old ones won't be added to the new ones, ever.

Like the couple above I also created my BOINC account before trying to link it to my old information. It's been years since I knew the password, or that old email account even existed. The Domain dissapeared one night, without notice. There is NO *.saf file to be found anywhere on my hard drive.

I stand to lose 6414 credits.

What do I do now?

Hi,

I'am quite appy to see that I'm not alone !
I understood that all my units were lost when I switched from old to knew software (it's only 450 units, but they were mine).

I suppose there is nothing to do.
Best regards

It looks like they transferred over nicely... If you look at you account page (click on your name or accounts from the homepage) you see this:

SETI@home classic workunits as of 15 March 2005 668
SETI@home classic CPU time as of 15 March 2005 10,098 hours

This was the last snapshot they made and it should be updated with the closing numbers from classic soon. This is all anyone has from classic and due to the differences in scoring credit, the classic numbers and BOINC numbers cannot be directly combined.
