I see the option to set up different preferences for different locations but I don't see any way of telling the client which preference to use. The 'messages' tab says "General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults". Am I being a bit thick?

On the website, for each of your computers, there is a location setting on that computers page.

John,

How does it know which computer is my work computer and which is my home computer? I can't find anything in BOINC that can set the location.

Hi jm7!
Could you kindly tell me where is this location? I also have the problem of saying my client "who" they are!

Thanks a lot!

He already did.

OK, here's the detailed version.

Go to your account page. Click Seti@Home "view/edit" link in the preferences section. Click on the "Edit Seti@Home preferences" link. Now change your default computer location, and update. :)

I tried this option, but it seems it doesn't work. Now my two conputers (home and work) are setted as "home". Any other suggestion? Thanks a lot!

You also need to update the project from the GUI. Click on the projects tab, right click on the project name, and select "update".

To set the Location for a computer:

Select 'You account'
Click the 'Computers View'
A list of you PCs should be displayed. Select a Computer ID.
At the bottom of the page you can set the 'Location' for the PC.
